Daytona Beach, FL, November 16th, 2009. - IASCA Worldwide is proud to announce another international success at the 15th annual IASCA Latino-American Finals competition held in Bogota, Colombia. Last weekend more than 300 vehicles participated in the IASCA event competing in the formats of Sound Quality, IdBL, Tuner Jam and the Latin American version of Bass Boxing called "SPL Open Show". Over 35,000 spectators were present Saturday and Sunday to check out the action in Soundoff competition; the Manufacturer's trade show exposition and all of the sideshows which include the awe-inspiring "Las Chicas Car Audio" Fashion Show.
The event is held each year at the "Corferias Expo Center", in Bogota. The venue comprises of eight buildings allowing for numerous events to take place simultaneously. Each pavilion has two floors which can host well over 5,000 people and 100 cars. The IASCA Latino-American Finals utilizes 4 of the 8 buildings with each building housing a different event. Sound Quality judging is in one building while IdBL and SPL Open show was in another. The Tuner Jam competition occupied the third and in the fourth was a "Spring Break Nationals" style mobile electronics trade show where manufacturers displayed their products to the public.
Officiating at the event were John Robinson and Andrew Fleming (Executive Director and Master Judge respectively) of IASCA United Kingdom. IASCA Worldwide Director Moe Sabourin was on hand to participate in the judging which began Friday afternoon and ended Sunday evening. Robinson said, "This is by far one of the best shows I have ever been to; it reminds me of my days of competing back in the mid 1990's. The excitement the Latino people have for Soundoff competition at this international level is unparalleled."
"The IASCA Latino-American Finals draws competitors from Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Ecuador, Peru and Chile" stated Sabourin. "The commitment for Soundoff competition exhibited by Latin competitors is second to none. Some competitors drove more than 60 hours in 3 days for an opportunity to be part of the world stage of Soundoff competition." IASCA Worldwide President Paul Papadeas added, "We're absolutely thrilled to have an affiliate relationship with Javier Pardo in South America as we've had for 15 years. Javier has traveled to SBN for many years developing ideas for his event in Colombia. Javier is well aware of the importance of consumer exposure for our category and offers a great service to the industry there. I'm also happy to report that the leading brands of mobile electronics support his effort and receive great results for that investment. I think that we, here in the States, have forgotten just how strongly the Soundoff revolution of 20 years ago skyrocketed our industry. Over the years, Soundoffs have been responsible for heightened consumer awareness; have stimulated interest and sales of mobile electronics and have inspired manufacturers to develop better and more durable products. In this sluggish economy, we should all take a good look at the Soundoff scene again; what worked then, still does".
