Spring Break Nationals
Daytona Beach, Florida, October 14, 2008 - SBN EXPO Group, LLC is pleased to announce the dates for the 23rd Annual Spring Break Nationals, “the World’s Most Famous Soundoff”. SBN 23 will take place at the newly expanded Ocean Center in Daytona Beach on March 13–15, 2009, statistically the most active weekend of Spring Break. “We’re elated to finally move our event to this preferred weekend.” cites event founder Paul Papadeas, “the best part is that we’ve got these prime dates for this coming year and years to come! Exhibitors have been relatively satisfied with the number of SBN attendees, but now that we have this prime Spring Break weekend dates, 2009 SBN promises to break all records”. One hundred and twenty two Eastern U.S. colleges with a collective enrollment of over 1.6 million students break on this week and more than a fair share of them come to Daytona Beach.”
The entire SBN Expo, Tuner Jam Car Show and all Soundoff and SPL competitions will be completely contained inside the new Ocean Center Exhibit Halls and Arena. ““This is a vision realized after many years”, states Papadeas, “and The Ocean Center expansion offers us 200,000 cumulative square feet, complete with 23 breakout rooms perfect for seminars, dealers meetings, focus groups and banquets. It’s a beautiful convention center and we no longer have space constraints. The extra room will enable us to fulfill objectives we’ve wanted to during the years of exponential growth. For example, the SBN show floor will feature a quiet listening exhibit area for Sound Quality oriented exhibitors and SQ competitors. We will have a special area for SPL with an integrated Tuner Jam car show. SBN 23 will offer all exhibitors expanded booth sizes at no additional charge. We encourage exhibitors to feature their car audio dealers giving the consumers in attendance better exposure to the category and to these installers. Automotive Aftermarket Accessory Suppliers will also be joining SBN EXPO in the Tuner Jam arena.
A number of meeting rooms will be allocated free of charge to exhibitors as an early sign up bonus. “It’s smart and timely that our industry embraces SBN as a business tool” says Papadeas, whose event caters to Auto Sound Dealers and spectators east of the Mississippi. “As an Auto Sound retailer for 35 years, I find it increasingly difficult to bear the expense of a trip over to Las Vegas for CES. Daytona Beach offers a more focused, cost effective venue to do business in. SBN’s 22 year strength as a trade show is primarily dependent upon the exhibitor’s participation to activate this marketing tool. We as an industry cannot neglect the need to step up our exposure to consumers in order to raise awareness of the category. For decades, SBN is consistent in successfully joining consumers and trade in one event and over the past several years, it has been evidenced that we are drawing a slightly older audience alongside the targeted youth.
The festivities within the Ocean Center will include multiple stages with a variety of emcees, DJ’s and special guest appearances, while IASCA’s Bass Boxing Title Championship is planned to warm up a free concert Saturday night. Prizes and freebies are still the show “hook” and will take center stage again along with a Hooter’s International Beauty Pageant, a favorite among participants.
