How to become an IASCA Certified Judge

Certified IASCA Judges are the experts; they are knowledgeable in every subtle nuance of sound, installation prowess and study the IASCA rulebook from cover to cover.

Becoming an IASCA Certified Judge requires attending an IASCA Judges Training seminar. The training teaches attendees the finer points of Sound Quality judging, Installation judging, the proper use of an AudioControl RTA/SPL meter and the ethics involved in IASCA judging. Once the seminar is complete, attendees are required to write a test based on the rules and the training seminar; a minimum 80% pass rate is required to become an entry level IASCA Certified Judge.

Once a person is certified as an IASCA judge, they commit to a Judging Code of Ethics that binds them to their commitment of unbiased evaluation and judgment of mobile electronics sound systems.

Judges Training Seminars take place at most major events through the course of a competition season, like the Spring Break Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL in March and the IASCA Finals in the latter half of the year. International Judging seminars happen annually in many countries around the world. In the near future, IASCA will offer online judges training courses as well; keep an eye on our site for developments.

Judges Training Seminars are always posted in the IASCA events schedule; if you don't see one listed for your area and you'd like to be involved in setting one up, contact us at memberservices@iasca.com or call us at the IASCA Office at (386) 322-1551.
