About The Floydstr

It is the passion for the sport of Car Audio which drives each of us to compete, judge and support the 12 volt industry. I guess it is like any other sport once it gets into your blood it stays with you. I started competing in 1988 and in 1989 placed 2nd at the IASCA Finals in Tempe, AZ. Wow, what a long drive from Alabama to get there and of course with winning 2nd Place it made the trip worth it. I started helping Retailers judge events and even host a few from time to time. The passion became an obsession and I had to realize I could not be everywhere all the time. I went to the judges training and help give the IASCA training from time to time also. In 1996 I was invited to go to Colombia to help with their Finals and after seeing that IASCA was really recognized world wide my interest level increased allot. Of course from there I have had the opportunity to train and travel to other countries and meet and make many new friends. Trust me the passion were ever you may go is the same if not more. Men and women from all walks of life are involved in Car Audio and to see these people and understand that we all have a common bond is a great feeling. I must say that without the competitors, retailers and factory's the sport would go away. I still enjoy hosting small and large events. If it helps get someone interested in a sport that is fair and fun then it is all worth the time anyone puts into. I guess if you enjoy what you do it shows. I appreciate all the friendships and relationships I have made through out the many years and wish the best of luck to everyone. the floydstr
